Harry ”Deep Throat” Reems as a reporter for the decent magazine New Morality, investigating the dirty magazine Playhouse! George Duroy (Harry Reems) is a journalist at New Morality Magazine. He is writing an article about the demise of art into pornography in conjunction with an exhibition arranged by the men’s magazine Playhouse. The women at Playhouse take care of the inexperienced George, but the only woman he wants is the hard to get Anita. That is, until George becomes the editor of Playhouse… Swedish director Mac Ahlberg made sophisticated and expensive Seventies hardcore movies like Flossie, Molly and Justine and Juliette. Today he is a successful cinematographer in Hollywood. To his credit he has movies like Beverly Hills Cop, Re-Animator and Innocent Blood. The script for Bel Ami is a very loose adaptation of the novel, written by Guy De Maupassant in 1885.
