I was in a movie with Mathew Fox, Renee Zellweger, Matthew McConaughey and Philip Seymour Hoffman. All of them have become incredibly rich and famous. Two of them have even gone on to win Academy Awards.
Naturally I am incredibly jealous of all their trophies and cash. But there was another talented man that worked on that movie that I am way more jealous of. This man goes by many names – Mac Ahlberg. Edward Mannering. Bert Torn. As a cinematographer/writer/director he made over 70 films in a career that started in the 1950’s and continues in the 2000’s. But don’t get me wrong. I ain’t jealous of his many talents, his many films and his longevity in a business that crushes people on a daily basis. I am jealous of Ahlberg/Mannering/Torn for one thing and one thing only…
