Download Movie: The Brave One

Once upon a time at the Paramount Studios in lovely Hollywood, California…I was so nervous before a big audition I actually barfed in the parking lot. Not to brag, but it wasn´t my style to go around vomiting in parking lots just because I was nervous about an audition. So what made this one so special? It was for an incredibly talented director (Neil Jordan) who made movies that relied heavily on great actors giving great performances. Needless to say, I didn´t get the job.

That same director is the dude behind "The Stranger Inside". It’s truly a sad sign of the times that the man who once made such original films as "The Crying Game"(4 stars), "Mona Lisa"(4 stars) and "The Butcher Boy"(4 stars) is forced to do a re-make of the 1970´s vigilante revenge movie "Death Wish"(2 stars). But to his credit, Jordan is still pushing his actors to give great performances. Unfortunately, Jodie Foster doesn´t quite achieve greatness as she goes from "madly in love" to "madly in hate". But she is good and it’s great fun to watch her lay waste to NYC’s bad guys with an illegally purchased 9 millimeter pistol.
