The downloader (BitEasier ®) is a complete proprietary BitTorrent client by Ameibo contained inside a signed java applet.
- Runs on all major platforms.
- Standards compliant.
- Respects the private flag that is a necessity for preventing unauthorized downloads by third party.
- Supports progressive download, which allows the user to start watching as soon as enough data has been downloaded.
- Contains a streaming server that delivers the content to the playing application. This is due to the fact that certain players/OS:es won't allow direct disc access to the files that are being written to.
- Downloads may be resumed in case of user abortion or network failure.
- Small footprint. At only 140 kB it's probably one of the smallest BitTorrent clients around today.
If you have a slow connection, please be patient; you will be able to use the "Play Now" functionality, but the applet must buffer a little longer than for fast transfers before playback can commence.
File download requires the applet to have permission to write to your hard drive, hence the certificate confirmation box. Please approve the certificate: otherwise the download won't start!
The "Play Now" functionality currently only works on Windows.
